That looks like the short form of the BSRI; the inventory was originally developed in the ’70s. The regular version is sixty items, I believe. I think it operationally defines the traits as masculine, feminine and neutral, and i think they are evenly split on the long form, so I assume the short form would follow suit . One can be classified as feminine,masculine, androgynous (high in masculine and feminine traits) or undifferentiated (high in neither feminine or masculine traits). There’s a study I came across in my thesis research that recommended reworking several of the traits to better fit the current understanding of gender (such as several of the masculine traits to be redefined as neutral, etc.)I just took something called the Bem Gender Traits Test, if you don’t know what that is you can find it here.
Basically it has confirmed my belief that assigning attributes to genders is dangerous and short-sighted.
Or maybe I’m just mad I scored a -23… meaning I’m masculine as fuck. Oh well~
Yeah, ditto. I got a -25.
Tl;dr Inventories can only do what they were designed to do, and when and who they were written by affects the results and how they should be interpreted ^^;;
